A meal for my family

If I were to make a meal for my family i would make chicken and rice because its something we just love to eat. It's simple, but really good, especially how my dad would make it! He eventually passed on the recipe to me when he left. First I would marinate the chicken with lemon, garlic powder, black pepper and seasoning and leave it in the fridge for about 2 hours to soak in with the lemon. Then i would wash the rice and put it in a pot with water and let it cook 'til it's done. I would then pull the chicken out of the fridge and put it in a pan and put it in the oven for about 20 minutes, then i would transfer it to another pan and put it on the stove so it can grill for a little bit, while I let that sizzle i would then take the lettuce out of the fridge and wash it to cut it up and make into a salad. when I finish that I, would serve the plates, place them on the table and dig in!

One time I was brave

If I have to describe only one time I was brave it would have to be the time when I messed up my knee playing soccer. The reason I had to be brave was because we were only 7 on the field, if i came out we would of been only 6 and we would have had to forfeit the most important game of the season; the qualifications to play-offs! I was going one on one with another playing of the opposing team and I guess she found it easier to hit me in the knee and thats what she did. As I lay on the floor watching my coach pop my knee back into place I thought to myself "I really need to suck it up and at least make my passes so we can go to play-offs!" What the coach did was wrap my knee up with ice and saran wrap so it can stay. The whole game I was in so much pain, but as long as i stayed in and did my passes everything was ok! When the game finished, my mom took me to the hospital to get my knee checked, the doctor told me that if i was hit a little harder she would have tore my collateral ligament which lays on the sides of my knee cap. If I would of torn that, I think i would be done with soccer. This is one of the times I had to be brave and being brave really payed off because we won 1st place in the tournament!

A hundred dollars

If I had a hundred dollars I would donate it to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital so they can keep reasearching cure's for cancer, AIDS, and more diseases in children. This is very important to me because the children are our future and without them what will we do when we get older and cant do anything? It's them who will work and better technology. I would want them to keep researching and keep finding new things to cure sick children. I would want them to keep raising money to establish hospitals in third world countries where there are many sick and disease-filled children that need help. A hundred dollars wouldn't do much but its a good start. Would you like to help?

Do you remember...?

Do you remember me? We used to hang out? If i start telling you our past experiences I'm sure you'll remember we were best friends! I'm pretty sure you remember the time you called my house and my mom answered and you got scared! How about the time we were playing soccer and you almost broke your ankle because you were mocking me? Do you remember the time I gave you a piggy back ride and we both fell? Do you remember that day it was raining hard and we decided to go to the park and go down the slide, February 19 I think it was? How about the time we met, do you remember what we said? Do you remember when we got home late and had to sleep in the yard? I still remember the late night talks outside my window, do you? I know you remember the time my mom was hitting you with the broom because she thought you were peaking through my window, I know you do! Do you remember the time I spilled orange crush on your jeans? I sure do! These times I sure won't forget! I hope you do remember them and you say "Oh yeah she's my best friend, we used to do dumb stuff together!" and if you dont, please try to remember atleast the time we met!

This journal...

This journal is something i have no problem on using everyday. Its something I can use to express what I feel and write anything I want instead of telling people because they can easily tell someone else. In this journal I write about what I feel, why I feel the way I do, and how I can change it. I keep this jouranl under my bed where no one can find it. In this journal most of the pages are occupied about the way i feel about my dad and him leaving and how much I miss him. A couple of pages are about my mom and our relationship that isn't how I want it to be. This journal has become my escape, I just put my earphones on, listen to music and write away! This journal has become part of my life. If anyone would read it, they would read about me and what i hide with just a simple smile. They will read about how my dad has gone, and how I blame my mom for it. They will read what I hide behind the thick wall I have built. In this journal I write about everything and I mean everything! This journal has become my non-human best friend because I know that this will never be spoken of to anyone else, but us! I write in it every night; it knows more about me than what my mom tries to figure out. This journal holds my deepest dark secrets, things no one knows about, things no one will ever know about!

when I wake up

When I wake up the first thing I do is go to the bathroom. I brush my teeth, then I wash my face and I think about what I can wear. Then after, I do my hair and wash my hands. I come to my room, pull out my clothes, get dressed and wake up my sister to warm up the car. While shes doing that, I get the cereal out of the cabinet, take a bowl and spoon out and pour my cereal into the bowl, put it back where it goes and take out the milk from refridgerator. After I pour the milk, I put it back in the fridge and go back to my room to put my shoes on and get my bag. While I'm in the room I over look my desk to see if I left anything important that I need to take to school. After, I check my bag for everything I need, grab it, put it on my back, take my bowl and get in the car and eat on the way to school. While in the car, I discuss with my sister her time schedule to see if I have a ride to pick me up when school is over. When we get infront of the school, I leave my bowl on the seat, take my keys, say bye, close the door, and put my phone on silent as I enter the school to start a new day full of educational teachings with no phone disrruptions 'til 3!

The house i lived in...

The house i lived in was located in the city of Lynwood. It was one of the first houses built when the city was founded. It was old, but beautiful. It had a big brown wooden door with a crystal mosaic window of a beautiful colored bird on it. Once you walk in, it's the kitchen. I remember having our family dinners on the dinning room table where we had most of our fun talking about how our days went and making fun of my clumsy sister's new scratches from when she fell! To the right, it;s our rooms and if you keep walking straight through the hall way you see the huge living room and a huge window for a wall overlooking the pool and the gorgeous backyard. The pool in which my sister almost drowned in, the pool in which our parties we built around, the pool in which most of my childhood memories took place. This house had everything my dad dreamed about, he took care of it how he took care of us, but our world came tumbling down September 17, 2001 when my parents decided to get a divorce. September 17, 2001 was the day I no longer smiled inside, that's the day my dad left the house and after that it became worse and worse. We moved away from my dad and came here to Inglewood and he stayed in Lynwood, shortly after he moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he still lives to this day. The house I lived in is still standing, still beautiful, and still my favorite house where all my childhood memories took place!
